We are Women March & Rally-LA, April 28, 2012

Since the early days of my beloved little blog, I swore to myself that I would never get-out-in your-face-political.  At least not here.  This blog was my refuge from all that was nasty and vile on the net as well as a safe place for anyone else who happened to stumble by.

Well.  I can no longer keep my mouth shut.  I am sorry if anyone finds this subject offensive but it is what it is and I am what I am.  Like Popeye.

 

Me thinks she would fight back.

 The recent attempts to roll back the clock regarding our lady parts is just not acceptable.  Early suffragette sisters worked too hard for the right to vote and for us to have an equal say in this country.  I was mortified that anyone would even dare to call togehter an all male panel to discuss our reproduction rights as if we were chattel.  Then to add insult to injury, there was that entire medically-unnecessary-transvaginal-ultrasound debacle. Now it's just a force-an-already-traumatized-woman-to-undergo-a-medically-unnecessary-ultrasound debacle.  I think.  I can hardly keep up.

The right to right to make decisions regarding my own body and reproductive organs is a right like no other.  If there indeed is a God, those choices are between me and God.  Not me and you. Or like the joke says "between a priest and her husband."  My fate is my own.

Enough is enough.  On April 28, 2012, we are marching and rallying in cities across this country.  Events are being currently being organized in nearly every state.  Many of us have never actually had any prior experience organizing anything like this before (me) but are still stepping up to help out in any way we can.  Believe me, we could really use your help somewhere.

I've been joking with mother (probably scaring her really) how one of these days I'm going to dress up like a suffragette and strut about.  Never really had an occasion to.
